A pilot by profession and actor by choice, Thakur Anoop Singh became a household name with his portrayal of Dhritarashtra in the epic mythology Mahabharat. However, in 2015, Anoop participated in the Fit Factor Body Expo – Mr. India, winning the silver medal, following which he won a bronze medal for India at the Asian Championship in the category of Men’s Fitness Physique.
It was at the 7th WBPF World Bodybuilding Championships that he won a gold medal, making him the first Indian athlete to win it. Post this, Anoop bagged a role in the Surya and Anushka Shetty-starrer Singam 3 in 2017. Currently, the actor who is a huge name down south will be venturing as a leading action hero of a full-fledged Bollywood film which will be a remake of the South Singam 3.
The actor is known for his signature long locks. “I have sported the long hair look from my Mahabharat days. Now, after six long years, I have chopped my hair and it feels lighter now,” he says with a laugh. Talking about his passions, he says “I’m a fitness and travel freak. I keep exploring new places and due to the pandemic I had to pause myself. Now, I am only concentrating on fitness” says Anoop. He recently posted a picture of himself where he shared his before and after physique. The actor, who gained a lot of weight during the Mahabharata days, resurrected with a sculpted body. His lean physique is a result of hard work, dedication, and the vigour to reach a certain fitness goal. He further shared that his weight loss journey — of losing 15 kilos in six months — has been fulfilling.
Sharing before and after images, the 32-year-old mentioned how he decided to take his “physique to the next level”. “Took the left side picture on purpose six months ago in my full glory of fatness with a motto that I’ll take the physique to the next level. Decided to re-create every damn picture today to give you the motivation you may need in your journey, that you understand that with consistency, daily efforts, discipline, and willpower, it is possible to achieve a naturally fit and aesthetic physique,” he said. Anoop spoke about his regime and shared, “Wake up early. Start your day early. An early morning empty stomach cardio not only helps in burning the fat but also boosts your mood through the day keeping you more active and productive. I have small portions of 5 meals a day and it helps in keeping the metabolism in check. Avoiding junk eating is necessary.” Speaking about a balanced diet he said, “Lessen the carbs from the meal and add more protein sources to your diet for lean muscle gain that will keep you proportionate if you looking to sculpt the body and gain some muscle.” If we want to have a well physique body then we need to concentrate in our diet and workout plan.
